Focusing our energy locally offers opportunities and benefits on many levels: from economic and material to environmental and social. We are carrying on the traditional ways of historic rural communities - helping each other as neighbors and friends, mentors and teachers. Everyone benefits as we tap local resources to strengthen our local economy.
Arivaca Local potlucks are held the last Sunday of every month where we gather for the pleasure of eating food locally produced and lovingly made, followed by announcements (updates, events, resources, sharing, trades) and topical discussions. Every second Saturday of the month we encourage a faire where we barter or buy local produce and other products, augmenting the existing Saturday morning market downtown. We look forward to upcoming workshops, work parties, and discussions, all in the name of living well and enjoying these interesting times.
Arivaca Local is open to everyone and will flow with the currents of what we bring to it. To find out what's going on, peruse the forum and the calendar on this website and the event listings in The Connection, our local paper.
